Prevent Measles: Protect Yourself & Our Community

There have been no reported cases of measles in Columbia County. The Communicable Disease unit of the Columbia County Health Department is doing daily surveilling. There has been a slight increase in calls from residents with questions about the recommendations for the MMR vaccine.

The Health Department does have the MMR vaccine available and individuals with insurance that we participate in can receive the vaccination, all others would be required to pay $95.00 per vaccination. 2 vaccinations are recommended for immunity one month apart. Immunization clinics are held every Tuesday from 1-4 pm by appointment at the Columbia County Department of Health located on the first floor of 325 Columbia Street Hudson NY.

Concerned residents with internet capability are encouraged to visit the  New York State Department of Health web site www.health.ny.gov or  Centers for Disease Control website www.cdc.gov . These resources have the latest up-to-date information for you and your family on measles outbreaks in the United States, recommended vaccination guidelines, and protection for international travel.
