Q.  How do I sign up for the COVID-19 Vaccine?

A.  Links will be posted to the Health Department website at as vaccine becomes available. Please check back with the site and our Facebook page for updates as clinics become available.

Q.  I am trying to register, but the link isn’t working.

A.  With the volume of individuals registering at one time, we may experience system slowdowns. Please keep trying the link.

Q.  What are the contradictions?

A.  At this time, there are no know contradictions to the COVID-19 vaccine.

Q.  What vaccine is the Columbia County Department of Health using?

A.  We are currently using the Moderna vaccine. That is subject to change based on availability as we move forward. However, your first and second dose of vaccine should be from a single manufacturer (i.e. If you received the Moderna vaccine for the first dose, you should receive the Moderna vaccine for the second dose.)

Q.  Are there any allergy interactions with the COVID-19 vaccine?

A.  There are no interactions that we have seen at this time or are aware of.

Q.  Do I still have to wear a mask if I get the vaccine?

A.  Yes, mask and social distancing will still be required until a majority of people have been vaccinated and we reach herd immunity.

Q.  Is there a cost?

A.  No

Q.  If I’ve had COVID, do I still need to be vaccinated?

A.  Yes

Q.  If I’m on quarantine or waiting for test results, can I still come to the clinic?

A.  No, you should cancel your appointment if you have one scheduled.

Q.  I just had a vaccine for something else, can I still get the COVID vaccine?

A.  You must wait two weeks between vaccines.
